Visual hits that match the sonic energy.

Overview

What started as a friendship formed through late-night jam sessions and playing in a band together has grown into a decade-long creative partnership- my path taking me into the design world, while my bandmate continued to pursue his passion for music. Over the years, our collaboration evolved into a professional relationship rooted in trust, creativity, and a shared vision. I've had the privilege of helping shape and grow the visual identity of Lua Flora, guiding the brand through its evolution as the band's sound matured. From album artwork to merch design and overall brand strategy, it's been an incredible journey, turning a shared love of music into a lasting business relationship.

The Lua Logo

After years of going by the "Evan Button Duo, Trio, Band, etc." Evan wanted to come up with something different to encompass a wide variety of musicians, instruments, and musical styles. He landed on the name "Lua Flora."

"Lua," meaning moon in Portuguese, and "flora," meaning flower in Latin, created a nice pairing for the mellow, earthy folk vibe, complimented by a vibrant rock and reggae tune of Evan's music. After hours of trying to create something with very expressive typography or something more born out of the '60s flower child style, I landed on something modern, simple, and organic. Something easily recognizable as a logo mark can also be expanded into a full-text logo.

“I've worked with Tommy for over 10 years as my primary source for all graphic design and branding needs. Tommy has consistently delivered visionary results that have taken our brand to the next level. Customers are always asking who designed our art with the highest praises.”
